Hot-dip galvanization forms a metallurgical bond between zinc and the underlying structural steel. This sacrificial protective layer delivers long-term corrosion resistance in extreme C3 to C5 corrosive environments, maintaining structural integrity without the continuous maintenance associated with painted mild steel. It's the standard for modern modular framing, container design, and cold-formed light-gauge applications.
Our pre-engineered and modular houses rely on high-grade zinc-iron alloys to guarantee durability. Below is a breakdown of the material standards and processing methodologies used at our Foshan facility.
We process raw structural steel through automated hot-dip baths to achieve minimum zinc coatings of Z275 (275 g/m²) up to Z450, complying with ASTM A653 and EN 10346. This delivers barrier protection and sacrificial galvanic defense.
Cold-formed light-gauge steel elements are computer-designed and roll-formed to precise tolerances. This yields high strength-to-weight ratios, ensuring easy transport and fast assembly.
Structural assemblies are engineered using advanced FEA software to meet regional wind load certifications (up to 150 km/h) and seismic design standards, including Eurocode 3 and AS/NZS 4600.
Our structural solutions are engineered to perform across diverse regulatory, environmental, and thermal zones.
| Target Region | Predominant Product Type | Environmental Challenge Addressed | Compliance & Standards |

| North America & Caribbean | Modern Steel Frame Villas & ADUs | Hurricane wind loads & Seismic activity | IBC (International Building Code), ASTM standard frames |
| Europe (EU & UK) | Detachable Container & Modular Offices | High energy efficiency & thermal envelopment | Eurocodes (EN 1993), CE Mark, thermal insulation standards |
| Middle East & Africa | Labor Camps & Mining Accommodation | High temperatures & corrosive coastal winds | Hot-Dip Galvanizing (ISO 1461), sand-proof seals |
| Australia & Oceania | Prefabricated Villas & Modern Cottages | Termite resistance, extreme UV, and Bushfire safety | AS/NZS 1170, AS 4600 Steel Framing Standards |
Foshan, situated at the core of the Pearl River Delta industrial cluster, provides Umo House with an integrated supply chain. We procure raw hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel coils directly from state-owned mills. Our manufacturing facility combines pre-treatment, roll-forming, welding, hot-dip galvanizing, and assembly in one single, continuous production cycle.
This geographic concentration reduces production lead times by up to 30% compared to Western counterparts. Additionally, Umo House offers the following strategic benefits:
The construction industry is shifting toward smart, high-performance designs. Foshan Umo House is at the forefront of this modular evolution.
We use Autodesk Revit and Tekla Structures to generate complete Building Information Modeling (BIM) files. This allows international contractors to test spatial and structural alignments before manufacturing begins.
Steel is 100% recyclable. By using hot-dip galvanized coatings, we extend the service life of our frames, minimizing lifecycle carbon emissions (LCA) and complying with international green building standards.
We are integrating high-density polyurethane (PU) and rockwool cores with reflective layers. This improves thermal performance and reduces HVAC energy costs in extreme climates.

Under typical atmospheric conditions, hot-dip galvanized steel frames can last 50 years or more. In highly corrosive marine environments (C5 category), the frame will maintain its structural integrity for 25 to 30 years without requiring additional anti-corrosion treatments, thanks to the sacrificial protection of the zinc layer.
Our structures are engineered to meet international building codes. Light-gauge cold-formed steel and hot-rolled primary columns have excellent elasticity and high strength-to-weight ratios. This allows them to absorb lateral loads, keeping the building safe in winds up to 150 km/h (equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane) and in seismic zones rated up to Class 8.
Yes. Our in-house engineering team provides full OEM and ODM services. We design structural profiles, load distributions, and connections to comply with European standards (Eurocodes) and Australian standards (AS/NZS 4600). We also provide full calculations for local engineering approval.
We offer a range of wall panel systems, including EPS (Expanded Polystyrene), PU (Polyurethane), and Rockwool sandwich panels. Panel thicknesses range from 50mm to 150mm. Rockwool panels are ideal for projects requiring high fire resistance (Class A fire rating), while PU sandwich panels provide excellent thermal efficiency (U-values below 0.24 W/m²K).
To reduce freight costs, we utilize flat-pack and knockdown packaging systems. For example, our 20ft container frames are packaged in bundles of four, shipping as standard 20ft ISO dimensions. Larger villa frames are bundled by component category, labelled with clear assembly codes, and shipped in 40ft High Cube containers to maximize volume efficiency.
